Rise Accounting was birthed from personal experience, and the Foundation is rooted in a passion to pay it forward.
In the midst of the darkest and most unsure season of my life, God opened a door that has provided financial blessings and purpose.
After an unwanted divorce, I became a single mom with no job, no home, and very little professional experience. God opened the door through a small welding supply company. This company took a chance and hired me in an accounts receivable manager position. I learned several new skills working in collections and receivables. I also began learning the accounting process. This experience opened the door for even more opportunity. I currently work full time at a company that has taught me a deeper knowledge of accounting and allowed me the chance to go back to school to further my education. I am thankful for the doors God has opened through the world of business.
I understand firsthand the struggles of being a young single mom. I also understand the struggle of wanting to provide the best for your child, but without a village and a community that assists, progressing forward in a career can feel almost impossible.
The mission and vision of Rise Accounting and Rise: The Foundation is to provide this community/village and an open door. As we grow, we would like to offer part-time positions to single moms of all ages as they pursue either an associate's or bachelor's degree. This opportunity will provide a source of income, experience in a professional role, professional skill building, and flexibility to be present with their child all while continuing their education. The goal of this program is to be a stepping stone that launches these moms into a successful career.
While this opportunity is open for single moms of all ages, there is a specific focus for teen moms who are graduating high school or those aging out of foster care.
What We Believe
At Rise: The Foundation, we stand proudly on biblical truth including the gospel of redemption and healing through Jesus. We don't want to only be a stepping stone in the mother's career, but to also be a light in the middle of some of their hardest years. In John 5:1-9 (NIV), we see Jesus reaching out to someone who was unable to walk, unable to move forward. He had lost all hope.
Jesus asks the man, "do you want to get well?", the man provides excuses and valid reasons for why he is unable to move forward to receive his healing. Jesus doesn't address the excuses, he gives a command saying "Get up, pick up your mat and walk". Scripture then says "at once, the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
At Rise: The Foundation, we believe Jesus' question "do you want to get well" was more than just a question. It was an opportunity to believe and an opportunity to make a decision. Jesus' command to get up or Rise, was not a call to do, but a call to respond in faith.
Our purpose is to speak life over these mom's. We encourage them to pick up their spiritual mat, their excuses and their past, tuck it under their arms, and walk.
Walk with Jesus. Walk in Purpose. Walk out of their current circumstance and make strides toward their future.
5 Year Goal
We hope that in 5 years, we will have 15 clients. This allows us the financial ability to offer a position to 4 moms.
10 Year Goal
In 10 years, we hope to have continued to grow and employ 4 more moms. At this point, we also hope to have established properties to house these moms at a discounted rent in order to teach financial literacy.
